NRA Supporters From the Beginning

Judy and John Woods were high school sweethearts who spent decades advocating for the Second Amendment and supporting the NRA. In the 1990s, John was one of a small group of people invited to serve on the organizational board of trustees for The NRA Foundation. He and Judy generously gave of their time, money and energy to the NRA’s fundraising efforts. He believed in securing stability through endowments and supported the endeavor until his death in 2008. Judy, after his passing, carries on the torch of supporting the NRA through her philanthropic vision and encouragement of the next generation of female Second Amendment advocates.

Now his daughter, Julie Woods Hill, is continuing her family’s legacy of generosity and Second Amendment advocacy with the NRA Women’s Leadership Forum Endowment. Though Julie grew up around guns and hunters, she only discovered her passion for the NRA’s mission in recent years after attending the 2014 NRA Annual Meetings & Exhibits with her mother. After that, she followed in her father’s footsteps, taking inspiration from his work with the NRA Foundation. Julie helped found an endowment for the Women’s Leadership Forum which acts to  to financially develop and sustain critical NRA educational and public service programs that cultivates the next generation of leaders.
